Two-storey detached house

The fact that the two-storey detached house was built from the ground up in 2005, from stone (60cm wall
thickness) with respect to the local architectural tradition but according to the current regulations of anti-
seismic protection and energy efficiency makes it highly privileged compared to the usual renovated old
buildings of the village of Eresos.

All exterior doors, windows and shutters are made of iroko wood which is known for its quality and
excellent resistance to adverse weather conditions. In addition, the wooden frames combined with the
double glazing provide excellent thermal insulation.

The floor and ceiling of the first floor, the doors on the kitchen cabinets and the large built-in wardrobe in
the bedroom are also wooden. All wooden elements have been made with traditional techniques and
designs (panels etc.)

The ground floor consists of a spacious living room with access to the ground floor balcony, a functional
kitchen (with many wooden cupboards and a traditional dish rack) and a modern bathroom. In the
Livingroom, two traditional sofa beds can sleep two adults.

The 1st floor communicates with the ground floor with an internal wooden staircase and consists of the hall
that has access to the first-floor balcony and a spacious bedroom in which a large built-in six-leaf wooden
wardrobe covers one wall.

The hall has a sofa that can sleep an adult person, while the bedroom has a double bed. This way, up to five
people can be comfortably accommodated in the detached house.

Finally, the house is fully air-conditioned with two independent air conditioners on the ground floor and the
1st floor.

The Guest house is consists of a spacious lounge/kitchen, a bedroom and a modern bathroom. It can
comfortably accommodate a family of three.

The courtyard is formed on two levels, between the two houses, to provide a great view and privacy. A
stone staircase connects the two levels.

The upper level (the `exterior`) has an excellent view of the Prophet Elias ridge and is bathed in the sun
almost daily.

The lower level (the `private`) has all the features of the sheltered courtyard with a stone fountain and a 15m
stone bench that can accommodate large groups. In addition, the house and the stone paddock create
shady corners at all hours of the day and protect the yard from the winds.

In the yard, the element of stone prevails in combination with plants suitable for the environment. The
primary plants are two olive trees, a 3m gold crest tree, a large agave Americana and an old vine tree of the
local edible variety.
